“Apart from a central business centre the LDA City will have 47,700 residential plots. We will allocate a separate and secure piece of land for the development of a diplomatic enclave where we desire that various countries should establish their consulates general, resident missions and offices,” LDA’s Additional Director General (Housing) Ammara Khan told this to a group of 48 probation officers of the Pakistan Administrative Services who paid a study tour to the authority as part of the 38th specialized training programme.
Briefing about the LDA’s scope of work, especially in the housing sector, Ms Khan said that 11 per cent of over 60,000-kanal residential project was consisted of parks and greenbelts.
She said the scheme would be fully computerized and there would be a transparent balloting of plots.
She said the LDA was spending over Rs320 million on the computerization of other schemes, including Johar Town. “LDA City’s designing and planning task has been given to a renowned firm that has already been engaged by the Sindh government for master planning and designing of the port city -- Karachi,” she added.
